Fractured Neck of Femur is a common injury encountered by Paramedics. The NHS treats over 70,000 patients with FNoF annually. This new device developed in collaboration with the NIC, Queens Medical Centre Nottingham, West Midlands Ambulance Service and Canard Design aims to reduce pain and blood loss leading to greater comfort and improved outcomes for the patient.

Patient Carry Chair »

ID3: Develop the Opportunity

Transporting the patient from the incident site to the Ambulance has been identified as a major cause of musculoskeletal injury (MSI) in ambulance paramedics. Exisitng carry chairs require significant manual handling capabilities to facilitate transfer of the patient. In response to this validated unmet need, the NIC launched a competition to develop a new Patient Carry Chair solution.

www.bigwhitewall.com is an award-winning online mental wellbeing service delivered through a joint venture partnership with the Tavistock and Portman NHS Foundation Trust (TPFT). Big White Wall (BWW) is part of the vanguard for transforming mental health services in the UK. It offers the first online pathway for mental health and wellbeing, placing people at the centre of their own care. It enables people to access well governed; safe therapeutic services through self-referral from the comfort of their own homes. Building on the success of LiveTherapy, BWW was granted additional pre-commercial development funding and support from NIC to develop a digital mental health and wellbeing needs assessment, recovery measurement and signposting tool.
